This is a portrait of the maternity and newborn Photographer Hanneke Raap

Hanneke is a Brisbane based qualified portrait photographer specializing in maternity and newborn photography. When 6 months pregnant my partner and I decided we wanted to capture this special time by a professional photographer. We shopped around until we found the photographer for us. It was a big investment but we decided it was worth it.

Every morning I wake up and I see our portraits on the wall. It takes me right back to that moment, how it felt to be pregnant, how it felt to hold my daughter, how happy we were as first time parents, how small and vulnerable she was and how big our love for her was.

I want you to experience this too and I am dedicated to do that by

  • Capturing this special time in your life with the people that matter to you and the feelings of this moment

  • Listening to what you love, like and don’t want,

  • Professional qualifications as a photographer,

  • Up to date immunisations and blue card,

  • Take my time, be patient and guide you every step of the way

  • Flexibility with time so when your baby arrives early or late no worries,

  • Working with the best artwork photo labs to get you beautiful high quality artworks

  • Unique maternity gowns, newborn outfits and photography props. Several have been custom made by highly qualified tradesmen and others have been sourced from around the globe.

Giving you an unforgettable experience from the first moment we meet. Resulting in timeless images that you and your family will cherish and that you are proudly displaying all over your home.

Before I became a full time photographer I spend 20 years of my career as a consultant within Europa, Australia and New Zealand. I enjoyed to speak and listen to people about their challenges and needs. I helped them work smarter by translating these needs into their world and empowering them by sharing my knowledge. I have always believed that  It is better to teach people how to do something themselves than to just do it for them. It even motivated me to write and published a book. When I wasn't at work I was out exploring the places I was send to with my first proper camera, taking photos of the amazing people in my life, the beautiful places I go to and the wildlife I stumble upon.

I have successfully completed my diploma of Photography and Digital Imaging and received a special award from my tutors.  I am part of a wonderful network of supportive and talented photographers to keep my skills and abilities up to date. Safety is very important to me and I practice poses and set ups with the Stand in Baby which is an industry standard training doll which has been specifically designed for this purpose.

As a volunteer I work as a photographer at the Humming Bird House in Brisbane which is a children's hospice (see for more details http://hummingbirdhouse.org.au/home/ ). I am so blessed to meet the Humming Bird families and be able to take pictures while they are spending time together, discover moments and too create precious memories for them.

I believe these experiences and technical knowledge make me a great photographer. If you believe I am the right photographer for you please reach out. I can't wait to meet you and give you and your family an unforgettable experience and images to cherish forever.
